I Think Essie Shine of the Times Has Super Powers!

Last Sunday, when I was out getting all of my hair cut off I had the pleasure of shopping alone…without children.  If you have kids, you know what I mean.  Even if you don’t have you kids, you might still know what I mean.  Generally, I take my kids everywhere with me because I’m the Mom and that’s what moms do.  Places that I do not take my kids include:  my hair salon, Ulta, and Sally Beauty Supply.  Incidentally, these are three of my favorite places and that’s where I went on Sunday.

At Ulta, I was excited to find Zoya Yara and Essie Shine of the Times from the Luxeffects Collection.  I heard about the new Luxeffects Collection and new immediately that I would love to have Shine of the Times.  It is a clear base with holographic flakes that I truly believe has the power to improve any polish.  Yes, I think it has super powers.

Zoya Yara is a beautiful army green with gold shimmer and Essie Shine of the Times is just gorgeousness.

In the photos below I have 2 coats of Zoya Yara and 1 coat of Essie Shine of the Times just on the ring finger so you can see the fantastic result.  I loved that I only needed 2 coats of Yara for perfect coverage and that it dries quickly.  I used Seche Vite top coat but not on ring fingers since I didn’t want to mess with the effect.

OH MAN, I love Shine of the Times!  Do you see the multi-colored gleam coming from that ring finger?  That’s right, super powers.  All the different angles in sunlight can really amp up the awesomeness.  Looks like I have another case of “I can’t stop staring”.

You can bet that this week I’ll be putting a layer of Essie Shine of the Times on a few different polishes!  I found both Zoya Yara and Essie Shine of the Times for $8.00 each at Ulta.

What do you think of these nail lacquers?  Do you own any colors that have super powers?  Leave a comment and let me know what you’ll be buying this weekend, I’d love to hear from you!

Im so jealous i could cry! I went to Ulta Monday specifically to get this shade, and it was the only one they didnt have! I ended up taking home the disco ball, silver glittery one but havent tried it yet. love your nails girl!

  4. I love the gold and army green combo. Is the glitter top coat as hard to get off as some of the OPI glitters? I had to soak my fingers in pure acetone and the then scrape with an orange stick to get Rainbow Connection off of my nails. It’s left me a little glitter shy.

    k. and G.: I can testify that I knew right away that I wanted this one! I’m going to say buy it now before it’s gone 🙂

sheerglitz: That’s the worst! You should ask them when/if they will be getting more so you can put one on hold. Target also carries Essie, did you try there? Not sure how soon they get their stock.

ChristieCream: I have not taken it off yet, ha ha! What I usually do is soak a cotton ball in pure acetone and just hold it on my entire nail for a bit, then just start removing. Then I put some more acetone on the cotton and use the cotton to really rub off the glitter. It is a bit more work than regular polish but it only took me just a minute more than normal. I did use at least 10 cottonballs though!! It will not deter me from glitter, I love it too much 🙂
